Gas Mileage???

I have a new RegCab STX with the 4.6L. I am wondering what kind of gas mileage to expect around town and on the highway. Can I get some reports. Also please let me know if you are in hills, mountains or flat land. Thanks

Jason

Phreekshow,

I have to agree, you are getting some lousy gas mileage. I have a FX4 Supercab w/ 5.4, 3.73LS and I'm averaging 14mpg with the approx 2/3 city at 45 or under. On the highway I'll get between 17-18 if I keep it below 70.

I have a 4.6 STX Supercab, 3.55 gears. Mods are a K&N Filtercharger and Flowmaster 40 series single in, dual out exhaust. I drive 60% city, 40% highway. I've been taking it easy lately, but I like to drive fast.

My average mileage is 18.1 MPG.

I get about the same...
04 SCAB, XLT, 2WD ... 14 to 16 MPG with 30% city, 70% highway.
I drive it pretty fast, so I'm sure that affects it.

I have a STX reg cab with the 4.6 V8, I have averaged 17.9 thru the first 2500 miles. The last tankful was 19.1. This was mostly highway, with some 2 lane rolling hill driving. I only averaged 18.4 with my V6 Ranger, thru 54,000 miles. I have a 500 mile round trip next week to lower Delaware, mostly flat highway. Hope to get over 20 mpg's.

2004 XL SCAB 4.6, 3.73, 2000 miles. Best Tank 19.83 worst 16.33 average to date 17.57. Towed a popup camper and had the bed loaded down in the Gila mtns 2 times. The only issue I may have is the AC sometimes works better than it does at other times.

Has anyone noticed a difference in gas mileage after a certain amount of miles, after a certain break-in period? I have a 2004 Lariat SuperCrew with the 5.4 and my info center states average MPG at around 13.4 I have heard after about 3,000 miles the fuel economy increses quite a bit but I am not sure if that is true or not. Most of my driving is on highways averaging about 72mph, and I am usually easy on the pedal.

I have an STX 4X4 SCAB, 4.6L and i got 22mpg's on highway doing 75. I'm in Cheyenne, WY so it's pretty flat up here but you could get into some hills. City driving i only get 14.
