My Dells never keep out the box software, as soon as I get them they get hosed, scrubbed, and fresh install. I put in what I want and nothing more or less. Work pays for them ... Great machines can't complain, but for the price I would have built "superduty" of a computer
I use all PCs, I have a server, a desktop, a laptop, a test machine, and a couple other machines in my house. I work at best buy, and we use all PCs there. We are even starting to phase out the Macs that we sell. I have found that a Mac doesn't play well with others (networking), and are more expensive. Anything you can do with a Mac, a PC can do just as well.
I use Macs at work, but I'm a graphic designer and like people have mentioned, its industry standard for us. I have 2 PCs at home that I love too, so I'm not a diehard fan of one over the other. Ironically, even though we all use Macs at work, our core network setup is on PCs.
I guess owning a PC is like owning an old Ford truck (fun to tinker with if you're into that) and owning a Mac is like owning a shiny new Ford Truck (fun to have all the reliability, but damn expensive).

PC all around the board here. Have 9 machines in my office, work from home, and since I work for a software company that doesn't make MAC software, I have no need.
I do graphics on the side as a hobby myself, and cannot for the life of me figure out why someone "needs" a mac for graphics. Last I checked all the graphics software out there works on pc as well. Adobe and Macromedia suites loaded on my pc.
Maybe a mac is more user friendly to the graphics creator, but that I wouldn't know.

I do graphics for a living, and I have worked on both platforms...
I have found that the workflow is much easier on a Mac, at work and at home I have Macs, but I do have a PC for my son's gaming habit
The Mac is just much more fluid in photoshop, illustrator and quark. I found myself getting frustrated on the PC. The drag and drop environment on the Mac is much easier
no dean you're not - I have been challenged both at work and at home since 1984. At least until this year when I got a new job. Now I am only challenged at home. At work they have to pay me to use the PC.
go ahead, bash away. I KNOW I set myself up for it

i wanna see someone who actually does use a mac post up!
there ya go ho.....I just posted up.
if Macs are such garbage, I wonder why the new microsoft XBOX is gonna run an apple G5 chip....hmmm
in my opinion, $500 PC's that companys make from hodge podge thrown together cheapy parts are garbage, with everyone doing there own thing, compatibility issues with PC's are a huge problem....I love going to work and hearing "my computer crashed" or "my computer keeps freezing up" funny....I dont have that problem.

I'm running a windows box now, but have had a few linux machines.
Right now I've been playing with Knopix (bootable linux CD's that make a linux ramdrive).
Lately though, I'm really thinking about an OS X machine.
Guess i'll be challenged too
