Oh and yea, it is true that ALL vehicles have thier problems, I joke around too and bug guys about thier choice of vehicles but it never serious. Got a buddy who drives a honda civic, I helped him bring it back from the dead and still bug him constantly. Even me, I am a diehard dodge guy yet look where I am now? I get laughed at and told I look good in a ford, big deal. At this point a truck is a truck (except 87?+ GMs)

case in point, of a bad chivvie attitude...
ths first shift supervisor, at the place where i work, just bought a '99 chivvie, dunno the specifics, and it doesn't really matter anyways.
a coupla days later, he comes in wearing some kinda funky looking chivvie cap, and i asked him when he was gonna get a real hat.
he said something about his truck would run circles around mine.
i said back, whan your gm product geta as many miles as my ford product, bring it over, if it isn't in a junkyard, and then we'll talk. he just looked stunned and walked off....
i am by no means bashin' gm, i'm just biased towards Fords...

It really bugs me, even though I should just laugh it off, when somebody bashes Ford without any background. I mean, most people don't have a clue why they are bashing ford, just what they were taught from their friends. So 1 guy has a bad experiance with a ford, suddenly everyone he knows is an expert on why ford sucks. I just don't get it. I have had good experiences with ford. And I will continue to drive them until I have a reason not to trust them anymore.

It is simply peoples opinion

I grew up in a Ford Family, (Parents now have a Dodge Ram and a Jeep and they have been good) and my wife was a Chubby family. So every time I went over there her brother was blabbing at how bad Ford's were. I just stated it was his option and walked away. Every time I go over to her house he is bestowing the virtues of the next and greatest GM product and I tell him it sounds good. He then asks when I am gone to get a “real” truck. I simply state that it is paid for and there is nothing wrong with my truck. Her brother is on his third truck, looking at getting another one, and I still have my same F-150.

My wife now has an Expedition and would not do another Chubby. Her Mom has a new Monte Carlo and boy is that a bad car.
My best friend has a GMC 1500 and we joke back and forth, but there are positives about both vehicles. I like the fact that his cab is bigger and he likes that mine has a more finished look and feel.

Ever notice how it seems like Ford people don't bash other people, we rag on others but never are really serious about it...when the other makes' people are serious about bashing our Fords...

I don't even get into it with people anymore, I'm not going to waste my time trying to enlighten them about automobiles enough to know why I enjoy my Ford. I will say my "ford sells more than anyone else" line to end the arguement, I win regardless on that one alone.

I end mine by reminding them of what kind of ambulance will take them to the hospital if they get hurt, or what most likely will haul their car if it's in a wreck.

i am also sick of the Ford bashers. it really makes me angry. my grandpa put 41 years in at the sharronville trans plant and he really cared about the products he helped build. the thing i always tell people is if your GM or forgin car or truck breaks down dont call me cause i wont help you. i will just wave at you as i pass by. the really funny thing is that most of the people i know with GM or forgin cars or trucks have alot more probs with their stuff than i have ever had with any ford.

I think bashing someone else's rig is a little risky--hey, it works for them. I bash Ford on this site because I paid good money for a vehicle that has had, imo, inexcusable problems. Ford has many good points that make it preferrable to the competition. I want to buy another Ford.

And so I want Ford to hear, in as many ways possible, that their poor engineering and indifferent dealer servicing is going to cost them customers, in hopes that they get back to "Quality is Job 1" or something similar.

As for GM, hey--I hope guys that buy a GM like it etc (Like the brand new H2 I passed today pulling a double axle boat trailer w/boat up a hill at 70+ MPH--ever heard of breaking it in.....????) enjoy their rigs. But GM is on record several times talking about making money instead of cars. That don't get you the best cars.

Anyway, like they say, everyone has issues--I was of a mind that Ford was addressing them better than the others until this last rig and the last year or so....not so sure at this point. Checking the Exploder thread ain't makin' me feel any better...

This kinda turns it off topic a bit but GM caters to people who wanna spend big bucks on vehicles, All the trucks are more like cars. The Hummer is a perfect example, they had an awesome off road vehicle for civilian use but ruined it by putting it on a GM Frame. Supposedly because anyone who dropped the money for one for personal use complained because of running gear and road noise. Guess what people IT'S a 4X4 meant for OFF ORAD USE. I have heard that they still make the original but mainly for military use.

I'm not convinced any "Ford bashing" on this site, no matter how big it is, will influence Ford in the least...
I am sure, however, that it will drastically lower the resale value of your vehicle !!!

My Dad said something a LONG time ago that has stuck with me...

GOOD POINTS bro....if you dont want a millitary assault vehicle then buy a caddi....and yes they still make then and its for millitary only applications...did you really think they would use those POS squishy soft civilian junkboxes to transport our troops??... and the real "hummer" is made by AM General not GM

courtesy of AM General Corporation i give you the following:

What is AM General’s relationship with General Motors?
General Motors does not own any part of AM General. In December 1999, AM General and General Motors Corporation finalized an agreement to jointly pursue product, marketing and distribution opportunities for HUMMER®. Under the final agreement, GM acquired the exclusive ownership of the HUMMER brand name worldwide and the original civilian HUMMER was renamed the HUMMER H1. Since 2002, AM General has produced the HUMMER H2, as a contract assembler for GM. GM has responsibility for marketing and distributing all HUMMERs.

Does AM General license the Humvee® name?
Yes it does. Humvee is a registered trademark and owned by AM General. Numerous toys, games, clothing items and other licensed products are for sale at stores around the world. <!If you are interested in obtaining rights to license a Humvee product, contact Mike Gard at Global Icons, Inc. at (310) 820-5300. Email: [email]mgard@globalicons.com[/mail]. If you are interested in the HUMMER brand for licensing purposes, you must contact General Motors.>

this all is just in case we got a chevy guy who thought he knew a bit more than he actually did and claimed humvee for GM which as you can see its not

That's 110 percent...yep, sounds like my family, 10 percent over the top. I keep having relatives pop up that I never heard of before! But on topic, yes, I get tired of the Ford bashers too. I everyone who knows me knows that I am a Ford man, and most of the time the bashing is good-natured so I give it back the same way. The guy who has the construction bussiness next to my work is basically a Chevy and Dodge guy, and he's always asking me to work on them for him. I'm currently working on his son's Chevy race car, I think there's hope for the kid, he doesn't seem biased yet.... -TD (400th post, WooHoo.)
