I have recenly purchased a 2000 Excursion with a PSD. I want to level the front end. What is the best way to do that. I already have 33'' tires on the way.
Easiest - least expensive - the 2.5" Edge mini spring pack. Next the 3" Fabtech hanger kit. Better ???? option - Edge 3" or 4.5" kit. The 4.5" is my reccomendation but it may take you places you don't want to go, such as: new track bar relocation bracket, drop pitman arm, rear block lift, all new shocks, etc. My truck is exactly level lifted 4.5" front and 2" in the rear. Good luck.
More than the mini spring pack. C code spring are reverse arched and almost impossible to do anything with from a rearching perspective. Mini spring pack and two hours of your time + air tools, two jacks, etc.. Do the passenger side first, then drivers side. If you don't want to do it - pay $100 - 150 for install of mini packs and new front shocks. You will need longer front shocks.
Thanks to Spartan's previous advise, I went with the Edge mini spring pack. No change to ride, but a better look. The tire/wheel wells needed a little more clearance due to the 285 tires. This is a 2" kit and will level the truck. Althought level, the X appears to look nose high. The next day I put 4" F-250 blocks in the rear. No vibration problems. This kept the factory rake. I kept the factory front and rear shocks until I come up with some more $.
The mini spring pack is MUCH easier than new springs to install.
