Yes Im kind of a foregner when it comes to ford six cylinders so I was wondering what is the largest amount of HP and Torque possible with a 300 stragiht 6? You know like running a huge cam, huge intake, huge carb, huge exhaust what would you be able to get out of it?
i'm planning the following mods on my spare 300-6, as i can afford them, even if it takes a while...
mild port/polish on head
zero deck block
20-30 thousandths over bore clean-up
offy 4bbl intake
holley 390 4bbl carb
260-270 deg duration cam
complete rebuild
MSD ignition system....
how's that sound for a start?? also brand new pumps all the way around, and whatever other little goodies i want to make my motor look puurrrrrrrrrdie...ROFLMAO!!!!!
there are several guys over at fordsix.com that have gotten torque #'s in the 330ftlb @ the 2400 rpm range
and Hp #s in the 240hp @ the 4200RPM range
most of these monsters are running 1.70:1 chevy I6 rockers, 240 heads, forged cranks from medium-duty aplications, forged 351W pistons , cams in the 212° @ .050" range and single 4barrels
Huge Turbo and a Huge shot of No2 will make huge power just rev it up to 6k dump the clutch and power shift that mother. Not sure how long it will live but it will make good power.
