Max trailer tow

For those of you that have the max trailer tow package, whats your opinion on the mirrors and is the ride any harsher than the standard tow package. I see that this package has upgraded rear leaf springs and big huge tow mirrors.

If i'm not mistaken i believe the Big mirrors don't even fold in? I think that is so dumb, on the f250 they had power folding trailer mirrors...

They fold in... there is no power fold option for them.

My truck rides fine, and I like the mirrors.

The extra spring does not do anything until the truck is loaded, its basically a helper spring. I wish the mirrors were power fold but they are, they do fold in though. With the max tow package you have to get the tow mirrors but they are great, you can see everything.

The ride is great. No discernible difference from the standard suspension as far as I can tell and I get the opportunity to drive both a fair bit. I have the max tow package on mine but my dad's 09 does not. I also like the mirrors but I consider them a necessity for me because I tow a lot. They're huge but they do manually fold. A power-fold option would have been worth any added expense IMO though.

I love the mirrors. I use the smaller curved mirror more often than I do the regular mirrors. I'm sure ford will make them power fold in the near future. 2011 would be my guess.

I have the extra leaf in my platinum and it rides very well but i only have the powerfold mirrors because my trailers only 7ft wide and 14ft long. so i can see around it pretty well. If you tow a trailer any biger i would go for the max trailer tow pack as the extra leaf, 3.73axle and longer mirrors will come in handy.

When they come out with the power folding mirrors for either 2010 or 2011, how will that set up be able to comprehend with the 09? Would it cost a lot.. ect...?

I would guess around $500. Guys have been putting '08 SD mirrors on older SDs, tow mirrors on '04s and so forth. I think that Ford intentionally left the '09 mirrors manual just so that in a year or two they can make an easy improvement. If they do make that improvement it should be an easy bolt on swap as long as they don't change body styles.

Those mirrors will be a whole lot more than $500. I have tow mirrors on the truck now and i am looking to put the power folding mirrors on the truck. Dealer told me $1200 for the mirros and $300 labor. That was not including any wiring harnesses that might have to change.

P.s. Soory about the caps
