V10 motor life expectancy...
I was going to purchase a truck within the next month or so and had decided on the 6.0 liter Diesel until I ran across the specs for the 05 V10. The newly added power and more importantly the 5 spd auto really made me think about waiting. So I ask, what is the life expectancy of the V10 motor? How many miles do you guys have on your V10's?

This same topic is up and running in the Superduty forum. I have read on flatratetech.com what the techs have posted as answers to this very question. That is, from the information they have recieved from Ford, is that the "modular" engine, V8s and V10, were engineered for a service life of 450,000 miles. That is with a factored in exception rate of 19%. The quality and build of gas engines are much better than they were in the past. Remember when a gas motor was considered almost gone at 100,000?
