3 screws, 40-50 bucks new. Actually, it might be easier to get out if you remove the airbox first, but the three screws you see are all there is, and the gasket might stick. It should come out squirrel cage and all. Here's a link to a new one:
Of course, there's always the wrecking yard. That's what I'd probably do since it's so easy to change. If it was a major pain and you didn't want to have to do it again, then go new. The heater core's pretty easy to get as well, luckily, since mine's shot. So I'm putting a used one in for now. Have fun. -TD
Well, for the blower motor, I think it's the same for all the older Rangers. My '83 parts truck seems to have the same heater box setup. I'm pulling the heater core out of the '84 tomorrow to put in my '89. There must be some older Rangers in the wrecking yard, maybe some that got wrecked after a few too many cold brews? Heck, I'd give you one of mine if you lived closer. -TD
