I have a 1985 F150 with the inline 6 and the distributor with the
spout connector. What bolt/screw do I loosen to adjust the timing?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 13-Mar-02 AT 07:58 PM (EST)]the distrubutor on my 78 has a 1/2 inch nut on the bacl of it. you losen that to turn the distubutor. prolly is the same for yours too

 

Thanks, I found the adjustment nut. Bought one of those distributor
wrenches that was suggested in another post. Now it is just a matter
of setting the timing. Found out today that what sounds really good
at idle, runs like crap over 15 mph.

 

Remember to pull the spout connector and set the base timing to 10 degrees. Also remember there are two timing marks on the balancer.
