Ignition switch won't turn

I have a 1997 Aerostar. Went to use it today, the ignition switch will not turn at all. I tried turning the steering wheel both ways, but it was no help. Also jiggled the gear shift lever around. I have never had this problem before and it was working just fine the day before. Any help would be appreciated.

did you try pressing the little white button on the bottom of the steering column?
