Prodigy Controller and extra relays

I have a 2000 F150 and just installed a Prodigy brake controller. I basically just plugged in the controller and went. Do I need to install the extra relays that I have read about in past threads? I did not have to adjust the controller much from the recommended 6 setting. Did anyone else? I pull 22' Hi-Lo which weighs 4000 lbs loaded. I live in CO so have plenty of hills to climb and descend. Thanks for everyone's input.

I have a 2000 F150 and was also pulling a 4000lb trailer ('til I found out I had a 3.08 rear end). I just added a factory 7-pin wiring harness to the truck. The relays you get are:
#302 full relay for trailer battery charge and either half relay #201 trailer park lamp or #203 trailer backup lamp (I am pretty sure it was #203, but feel free to correct me)

In any event, neither has to do with braking so unless you have a trailer with a battery that you want to trickle charge while you are driving and back up lamps...you should be good. Oh, you also need to have the 7 pin trailer connector in order for the battery charge line to work (i.e. there is no battery charge line in the 4 pin connector).

How do you like that Prodigy? I used it a total of about 550 miles before I realized my rear end ratio was not for towing that much weight...but I loved it! Granted it is the only controller I ever owned (first trailer) but everyone I talked to warned me of the brakes applying when changing grade, etc. Never had a problem with the Prodigy!

Hope I helped!
