Speedometer Prob..

I have a 94 explorer and the speedometer has started to "bounce"...when I get up to 55 mph it will "bounce" up to 80 then everywhere in between and it also makes a weird noise...

Any ideas on a way to fix this would be very helpful since I no longer know how fast I am going on the highway

:-X12 Hey I had a similar problem with mine a while back. If the sound is similar to the ticking of a clock then the speedo cable may need to be lubed. There is a special graphite type lube at the Auto parts places that you can lube it with. Warning, I had to completely dismantle my dash to get it done. Once you have that out you just pull on the cable and then rub it with the graphite "grease". Anyway, that is only if that is your trouble. I would suggest getting more advice before tearing apart your dash if you aren't mechanically minded.
