The antenna wire is run down the pillar between the front and rear Driver doors. I ran the wire down the outside of the weatherstipping and crossed at the bottom, then back up the pillar behind the trim panel that hides the seat belt and around the roof top in a channel that exists along the edges. You can see that in the photos, it runs along the outside edge of the roof on all sides.
I did this for two reasons, the first is that I am using a prewired mag mount antenna and the wire length that it was built with was set properly for a good swr. Consequently, there was a bit of extra wire to deal with and running it like that used it all up.
But more importantly, I noticed that if I crossed the weatherstip at the top of the door, then it might leave a breach for water to come through into the cab. Crossing at the bottom will help to minimize that effect.
I like the idea of the through the glass antenna though, and running the wire around the roof is easy and clean. I'll have to see if I can find out more about them.
I'm still lost at pulling the header. I have taken all the sun visor, grab handles, pillars, lights off, before. I could not find the clips to the header to pull it down. Can someone point me in the general vicinity? I would greatly apprecaite it. Aside from the CB, I want to put my cab marker lights on and it would help to have the header out of the way.
