460 with blower

Hi, has anybody put a blower or supercharger on ther 460 and how did it work? What type of blower was used? and was it hard to install?

I saw one on the speed channel that was supposed to be an easy installaion. It would increase hose power 225 to 450. The bad news is I can't remember the maufacturers name. I have done some seaching but have not come up with it yet. I believe tne cost of this unit was $800. I have an old carburated 460 and would like to find this unit.

460 blower

Yeah boy, if you find that out let us know! I have a 77 460 that i would LOVE to put that on!!! It's on a f-350 RV and when I tow, i really could use some more ponies! Also, anyone know of an EFI kit for a carb'ed 460?

try www.vortechsuperchargers.com I have been there on line but really didn't understand what I found. They advertise in a magazine I get called Off Road Adventures.Post back if this is what we're looking for.

lookie what I found and just read today!!!

"This engine project will be a 514 stroker topped off with a Dyers 8-71 blower. We will be building this completely and running it on our dyno"

Holley has a EFI that sits where your carb sits it has 4 injectors in a thottle body setup with all the electronics. Jeg's Racing has these for around 1400 to 1500$

Throttle body isnt nearly as performance oriented as SEFI though and the cost would be about the same.

95-f-350-4x4, weiand (not weiland) does not make a 8-71 for the ford 460 or any other super charger for the ford 460.

Blower Drive Service & Hampton Blowers both make Roots-type (like 6-71, 8-71, etc.) systems for the 429 & 460. Not cheap- about $3500 & up......Dyers Machine Service may as well.
