Pin wear in a bunch of crap and would never be able to be proved by Ford.
Who ever buys into this is very naive. I would like to see some hard facts or cases of this.
I think the idea behind looking for pin wear is to alert them to look for other "evidence" of aftermarket stuff, not to deny warranty work for pin wear itself.
if you had enough time to install the mods to begin with, just remove them before you take it in for warrenty work, its not like you will be driving her anyway!!! problem solved.

Yes I'm old. I know. I still drive a stick and I don't drive over 60 MPH either. Today I drove 504 miles and most of it at 55 MPH. (got 18 mpg though) I didn't see any RPM's over 1750 except once on a huge hill, then it "gunned it" to 2000 RPM and 70 MPH. It would be a shame to drive this beautiful machine so fast that others may not enjoy the sight of it. It is entirely possible that your V10 has far less power than my V8 or maybe your engine is like the IBM 9406-890 where it may have 24 processors but only 8 enabled. You have to call and pay for them to "unlock" the other 16. You could be driving on just 2 cylinders you cheapskate. Cough up!

"n578md: You got a burr up your butt about PSD owners or something?"
answer: No, just you. Was I talking to you or about you in anyway? What do YOU have against PSG owners?
"THE POST WAS AIMED PRIMARILY AT US DIESEL OWNERS.........."
"...Agreed...I'll buy that...as it is important that everyone has an understanding that it always flows both ways in an environment such as this.
I really got to add to this one, I offered my opinion to a few posts in the "6.0 Liter Forum" Some of the 6.0 liter owners really did not like what I said and turned it into me saying 6.0 liters stink. Never said or implied it. But try this one one for size. I'm not saying all but some of these 6.0 liter guys must be really self concious about their trucks cause the minute you say boo they say that you are ragging on their trucks and that gas motors suck. I just want to know when this secret society of 6.0 liter owners was ever formed. Get with the program you boneheads, This is the "SUPERDUTY FORUM". This includes ALL engines that came in our trucks gas or diesel. If you don't like it, go play in your own little forum and argue for bragging rights. Far as I'm concerned this gas vs. diesel debate is really old and is getting stupid
And all this because Duramaxkiller seemed to be miffed that he got replies from "gasser" owners and that I thought 300 HP at 5500 rpm didn't seem usable to me. 300Hp at 2500 rpm, now that would be nice. I was saddened to see the agressiveness go with the EDGE vs. Fabtech debates but I see we found something else to fight about. Today, I was stopped at a road block by the state troopers and Ford engineers. After my wife and I were dragged out and beaten by the cops, the Ford engineers wanted to see the contacts on my PCM. One engineer said "Earl, we've got some scrapage here!" The other said "That's ok, he's got a gas engine and he never drives it above 2000 RPM." They let us go.
How dare I post here! I don't even own a PSD, not even a V10 or anything! Does Toro, Briggs and Stratton or Murray have an owner site? Maybe I should post there, me and my lawn-mower engine powered F250.

dont usually come back hard but the "ricer site" comment struck a nerve

Dude, I bet you're older than I am. Most were single-lane highways but there's usually a half-lane to pull over to let people pass. When there's not that half-lane, I take it to 70 mph (2000 rpm) and that way I don't hold up traffic, just the occasional ricer (or V10 owner from New Jersey) that wants to go 90 mph. Why are you so worried about my truck not going more than 2000 rpm? You started it with the "saw a post a guy doesnt rev over 2000. pull over!!" comment. I bought this truck so I wouldn't have to redline it everytime I have 5 lbs of stuff to haul. Most HP at low rev, wasn't that the point of a "truck" engine?
Well 99f350sd...Thanks for the opportunity for this thread end gracefully for all.
Unfortunately n578md apparently enjoys pxxxing on his own boots in this little contest of his.
With the obvious exception of n578md...no offense to anyone...If you look thru the whole thread just offering up my opinion about a FORD WARRANTY travesty an maybe a half truth. Got jumped...jumped back at 'em. No one likes an ambush.
You know...I saw Yeti mentioned the other day that this Forum didn't seem to be much fun anymore. As evidenced here, I suppose. To Bad.
I'm sure all will be happy to know though...my last comment on this particular thread. I don't like wet boots.

Poor kw-something! How mean these 5.4L owners can be huh? You can see how many times I "jumped" ol' kw before post #48. (none, btw) How can I rag on a fellow Super Duty owner and a brethren from my own state? (I haven't) How is this allowed to go on? KW, you're not still mad at me, are you?
