Anyone with a manual or has removed/replaced before, I just got the compass module that mounts on the mirror stalk of my 99 Expy. How do I remove the wire connector? There appears to be a yellow tab/piece on the wire connector, but then there also appears to be some thing a little further down in the plug. Should I just put a screwdriver in there and try to pry the tab out of the way? Is there a better way? I can't get a good view of the connector since the wire is so short from the mirror.
I ended up getting the module from Ford dealer, around $75.00. It looked like the wrong part at first. It was considerably smaller and the connection port looked to small. Turns out that the part was correct, part was redesigned. The connector plug tapers as it reaches the end. But it took me and the Ford sales guy almost 20 minutes to get the connector plug out of the old module. It just would not release. Finally if released and was an easy replacement. Adjusted the zone setting and then did a recalibration (driving around in a circle). Works fine now.
