I got a superlift 8" set up ALL SPRING. It didn't settle at all, it's still the same hieght....My Shocks have the rubber part on top, and they adjusted the brake line mounts also....It looks short to me also, but I had no problems when I got airborn!
I have a 4" on mine with pro-comp mx-6 shocks and mine go boot down. I have a buddy with a six inch lift. He was told to bend the brake line braket down. Not to relocate.
I installed a 6" Donohoe lift on my 04 F350 V-10 last night and have a few questions.
How much should I expect the front to settle? The brake lines seem a little short and from everything I've read here they should be long enough.
Are the Bilstein shocks supposed to be mounted with the boot on the bottom or top.
I am interested in the Donahoe Edge 8" Lift. I currenlty purchased a 8" Superlift w/ block and add a leaf but have not set up the appointment to have it installed. I paid $1340.00 includes labor,Tax, dual stabilizer with the Superlift Flamed logo bracket. I accidently ran into another Truck shop and they told me about the Donahoe Lift system. There claim is the ride quality and materials are superior. Ride quality and performance in better than stock. Donahoe lift will out performe the Superlift.
I am debating to switch over to the Donahoe lift, I would have to paid $2200. Front springs leafs in back, includes labor lift and alignment. So does Donahoe lift provide a better ride quality?

4x4 v10 superduty Crewcab Shortbed.
Have you towed anything? Does the rear end sag a lot when you tow? How's the ride quality?
superlift vs edge.. search and read.. soo much on this topic.. i know if i had a kit in hand.. no way would i buy another... it aint going to be that much better... if you were the type that wanted the ride of a caddy in the first place youd be drivein a chev IFS HD... anyway.. as for the shocks... gas shocks can be mouned up or down dont matter unlike oil shocks.... however many people recomend you mount them boot down.. to help dirt/sand etc to not settle on top of the shock on the shaft seal... upside down will aid in keep it cleaner and longer life.... however it will work the same in either configuration.

i think any all spring lifts that are 8" and higher will ride hard and will be bouncy. i have heard of others putting weight in the bed so that it reduces the bounce. i have that same problem and thinking to put a full size spare in the bed. hopefully that will help reduce any bouncing.

Your gonna get an 8" front lift w/ a rear block and add-a-leaf. For $1,340.00 that doesn't include the Bilstein shocks that everybody and their dog swear by. And the $2,200 includes labor and alignment. I'm not nocking SL at all. It is what it is. But, if you don't take that EDGE deal... Accidents don't just happen. They almost always happen for a reason. Best of luck to you and yours!
VISTAR - if you installed the shocks - Bilsteins willl only go on one way - body up. Are you sure that they are on your truck? Just interested.
As for lifts - all of the spring lifts basicically s**k in tems of ride quality and lead to other problems compared to stock. The hanger lifts with blocks willl also create driveline problems. Handling - once a kit is installed properly - is a completely is a different story and can be imp[roved dramatically.

I only paid 1,250 for my superlift - with rear springs!!!!
Thanks for the help folks. I had them on the correct way, just a little self doubt I guess. I haven't had the time to do rear yet so my poor truck looks like a 2 wheel drive pre-runner. Now the tough decision, do I go with 35's and beat the heck out of it at Azusa Canyon, or 37's and take it easy...
It sure is nice to able to post a question and get great info...This site is the best.
