Are all 351 blocks the same? I got a 82 351 out of a 3/4 ton truck it only has 10,000 miles on it and I want to put it in my 89 bronco. Will all the brackets and timing chain cover fit off of my engine on to the older block?

Not all 351 blocks are the same, some of the earlier ones had a different deck height and were a little stronger. With regards to your swap, the brackets and timing chain cover will fit right up ok. One difference to look out for, the 82 block most likely won't have the hole in the side of the block for the 89 dipstick tube, the 82 dipstick probably enters the side of the oilpan. But you'll be ok if the 82 oilpan is a rear sump like your Bronco.

Thanks for the reply. What about the intake and fuel injection system will it all bolt up?

Intake etc should fit ok. One warning about performance, I think the 82 will have a lower compression ratio than the 89, might not be as peppy as it could be. Depends how worn out the engine in your 89 is and what you're used to.

The 82 has been rebuilt. I am not sure what was put in it but I have driven the truck and it seems pretty peppy.

The engine in the Bronco is really tired and uses alot of oil. Do you think this will be worth the swap?

I'd probably do the swap too if I was in your shoes. Should be worth it

Go ahead and swap it. Only the 1969-1971 351 had the shorter (9.480) deck height...1972-1997 had the 9.503 height.
