trans temp

Just installed trany guage , then went for a short drive 5 miles. The guage never went above 125 degrees. Is this normal. Put sender in trany on drivers side 11mm plug just in front and above the shift lever. Trany is full and dash guage was half way up.

I may drive 30 minutes from a cold start before my temps hit 140. Last week on a trip through Atlanta in 95* temps running 75 it did get up to 170. So I think your temps are likely ok.

thanks I just thought that since the stock guage reads half and the new one was only 125 that something might have been wrong.

The factory "gauge" is more of an idiot light, than a gauge. If the fluid temperature is within acceptable limits, it'll register in the middle of the "gauge".
It was 90 here yesterday, and the hottest I could get my tranny was 145. I love my aftermarket tranny cooler.
