Hello, I have been looking on and off for a farm truck and have come across some highmilers but the price tag is till to high. What I was wondering is how many miles most people are running with and were would be a good place to look for some beaters or highmilers?? I have watched different auctions and many local papers but hardly ever find anyhting. Any help is appreciated.Thanks.
Not sure what price range you're looking in. My '97 (3/4 ton, 2wd, extended cab) with 289K was $5950. No, records, a couple dings. Didn't know enough to check it out real good. Had to change all the filters and CPS, but so far, so good. Only burns about 2 qrts. of oil between changes. Hope this will give some idea of what's out there. Everyone please knock on wood for me.
Sounds like a winner, Bluesbandit. I got my '95 new and have 131,000 on it. Other than some small things that need replacing, the motor is totally sound. Bluebook is around 10k with my options in a private sale. Still looks new too!
Found mine on E-Bay.
I searched locally for awhile and foud nothing.
This truck was built in louisville and shipped to texas where it had 2 owners. Then me, and back to Kentucky.
I think its been wrecked before on the drivers side but, its hard to tell (carfax came back clean). Not had any engine problems or anything major(knock on wood...like the rest). Everything i want in a truck this has.
When i bought it it had 129k now 141k
Paid 11k still bluebooks for around 16k
97 PSD Crew Cab 4x4, 240,000 when i bought it, now at 255,000, had to
change ball joints and a tie rod end. So far she'd been sweet,
The kicker is i paid $10,500 for her.
I went to bed thinking i wouldnt win the auction..
This same truck here in PA with the mileage will still pull $15K
Found my 94 PSD a couple years ago, ext cab 4x4 in real good shape with 240,000 and paid 8k. I have no regrets. 265,000 miles now and still running strong. No major problems.
