Im having a really bad Tire wear prob. with my front tires on my '96 F-250.
My outer 2 sets of lugs have worn down 3/16 of an inch more then the inner 2 sets in just about 500 miles. and they where cupping bad!! The right side being worst then the left.
Heres what led up to this prob.
I recently re-did my King pins in my front rear (dana-60). I also went from single to triple shocks. I used all the same steering components and added a dual st. stabalizer. I then went from 37"x12.50x16.5 Super Sawmper SSR Radials to
38"x12.5x16.5 Super Swamper TSL's (bias ply). Had them spun Balanced and I'm running 35 psi of air.
Now when I had the 37" radials on before I re-did anything the wear on the front was nice and smooth even inner and outer tire wear. The truck always did pull to the right before and still after the repairs maybe a little more now then before! I roated the tires from front to back and within 75 miles they are doing the same thing. What could be my prob.? Is there any way to do a caster alignment on Dana-60 king pins??? Both my front tires are wearing on the outsides( the left is worst)
yo are running 35 psi in your swampers? i dunno about anyone else but that sounds like way too much! there is no way to do caster on a king pin. did you do the rebuild right? i would see about getting it re-ligned after all the changes you made
1st, let air out of your tires. I believe Interco calls for 30 psi max on those bias swampers and I run mine at 24 on the front and 22 on the rear. Then, drive straight to the alignment shop. Sounds like your cambers way off.
i had over a degree too much of toe in on my 97, and it was making my bfg muds wear like that....i took it to a shop and got it computer aliged and its all good now.
Thanks for the Info !!! I'll change the air pressure and get it for an alignment.
Are there any of you here from PA??? Im looking for any up coming Mud boggs or off road events

I am, but PA sucks, the only real events I hear of are the jeep jamboree in bloomsburg, and stuff at paragon (sp?) adventure park out east.. I'm near Pittsburgh, so it doesn't help...
The Bloomsburg Fair Jamboree ( July 9,10,11)is for any 4x4 not just Jeeps..thats in my local area and so is paragon!! In fact a Manager at my work is one of the guys who works with paragon. I have yet to go there. I know know they have alot of Jeep and Hummer events but I guess they do have others too. Paragon is getting pretty big.!! they have some big events there. One made Peterson 4-wheel and off road a while back.

I'll be at Paragon Park next month at the East Coast Bronco Roundup. It is pretty badass
