I had that same flash, It was before I knew better. That one takes away the Pilot Injection, but I don't think it does squat for curing the problem with the c94's. Their problem is mechanical, the design of the shoulder of the injector makes it succeptible to wear and binding. If you look at a cutaway of the c94 and c95 side to side you can see the difference. I hope the theory that they fail early is right and that I'm past the danger......but I'm still checking the oil.
I agree, IMO it was a stop gap measure to attempt to reduce the failure...
Still a question of how many did fail.
They explained that the PCM somehow caused too much pressure on the injectors causing the wear leading to failure (of course this is a conversation from a year ago, so???).
I noticed no performance issues after the reflash, but I only drove the truck 100 miles before the work was done.
Was this reflash from May of 2003 a bad one? I know the new one is a problem and the same tech advised me not to get it. I have none of the rough idle, surging, smoking, hard starting stuff guys talk about. Truck runs perfect!
Mine runs just right too. I've had really great luck with it so far. I wouldn't trade it for the world, except for a brand new one, but that's h\just because I'm spoiled.
