Question Charging...or lack thereof...

my 79 Bronco refuses to charge. alternator is NEW, voltage regulator is new, TWICE, connections are clean and tight, battery is also new. one thing disturbs me though, there is NO ground wire in the factory harness. there is a ground lug on the back of the alternator, but no wire to go to it. so i am going to make a ground on the frame and run it to it and see if that works. anyone have this problem before...? if so, what did ya do about it, lol...

ok, i found out that i am MISSING a wire. my buddy says it is the WHITE terminal on the back of the alternator and i guess it says "AT" on the back of the alternator. could someone shed some light on what this wire does and where it goes so i can find/replace it and maybe make my Bronco charge again, although i think i am going GM 1 wire...
