Just wanted to get my name out there. I have a 2003 XLT 4x4 Scab 5.4L. It’s the faster silver color. I have been lurking for a while and have noticed that a lot of people either have had blown plugs or leaking oil of fouling engines. My first car was a Nissan maxima (a great car it was white. That is where my SN is from). And my last car was a Saab 9000. Expensive biatch to own. I now have the Ford truck. I guess with regular maintenance it should last a while.
Thanks for the reasurence. But what about the head gasket blowing or maybe being defective. Do you know what the last year of the heads that were machined incorrectly.
seems to me that the blown head gasket was a romeo head problem on 97 and 98's.. I think they fixed that w/ the PI heads so you shouldn't have to worry.
It was the earlier ones that had head gasket leaks.
The gaskets didn't usually cause big problems, they just leaked some oil out the back.
I dont remember replacing head gaskets on anything newer than a 2000 I think.
