1987 dash trim & radio removal.
Hi truck lovers.
I just bought a used 87 Ranger, 2wd,2dr, ext.Cab, 2.9v6,efi.
Learning about mis. items. My radio is dead, get a pop in one speaker in rear when I turn it on but display doesn't light up. I'm going to replace it with an AM-FM CD player, does most of the dash trim just POP off? I see the row of screws across the dash bezel & I know I need to remove those, but I don't want to break any of the other trim items in the process. This truck has a tan interior with the cloth 60/40 seats.
Please feel free to e-mail me at ky_que@yahoo.com with any info.

You have to pop off the trimboards to access the screws underneath them. As far as the radio is concerned, thats easy as cake because its mounted to the console panel and a slot in the dash. You should just be able to pull the radio and console panel off as one piece. I have an 87 and I'm constantly messing with stuff under that dash, so let me know if this has helped you out or not.
