1998 Explorer alarm problem
The panic alarm on our Explorer goes off for no apparent reason.
I've rattled all the doors, hood and rear latch and cant set it off. Could it be interference? How about a bad remote? Would reprograming the remotes help? Getting desperate! Any ideas? Thanks. Mike

1998 Explorer alarm problem
Were you ever able to determine your alarm problem? I have a 1997 Taurus doing the exact same thing. It is frustrating. If my remote is within 50 feet of the vehicle, the panic alarm may sound. Although, there is no pattern to when it happens. Please advise if you have any idea what was causing the problem. I hate to shell out the $80 to Ford for a new remote, if it is a simple problem.
