Saturday night I went to check out the local street race scene. And it the same old, drive here and there avoiding cops and looking for races. Well all the ricers(Honda drivers) finally found a dead end street to race on. Watching for a while and noting special going on I decided to leave but first….. I would line up behind the two cars just about to race and almost next to the BMW M3 modded that was getting ready to race someone.
When out of the crowd comes hay you want to race the M3. Well I have been waiting all night so I said sure. So I pull up next to the beamer and one of the know it all street racers was telling me to keep on moving because they were trying to race here. So I tried to explain that I was going to run the BMW but he couldn’t get it in his head what was going on. So he told me if I was not running a 12 second ¼ mile then I would be wasting my time so get out of the way. I told him that’s ok lets see what happens for fun well knowing the outcome. He also wanted to bet $100 bucks, but I let him know that since I was going to loose I will just save my money. One guy said, I am going to get this on tape! While the other says, Don’t waist your film, as he yells to the crowd to move because we have a 9second truck about to run, trying to further aggravate me. So the guy starts us off and I automatically jump two cars on the guy in the M3 with my 4x4 take off. And we went about a 8th or quarter mile and I kept the same distance the whole time.
Very up set yet gratified I want to go talk with the guy that knew my truck was a dog and I was wasting everybody’s time. Well much to my surprise there was about 20 people clapping and waiting to shake my hand and leading the group was the smart guy that regretfully apologized and told me I had his respect now. Well now they know what the ford can do and next time it will be respected. Good to know there are still people who can admit when they are wrong.

Great story, but what you left out is the following information:

1) What kinds of mods do you have (we know it aint stock)?

2) What size tires?

3) Exhaust system

4) If computer mod, what setting?

5) Where you in 4X4 or 2WD drive mode (unclear)?

6) And lastly... did you get to go home with the pretty women (just like the movies)?

Let us know.... becuase stock it wasn't!!!

When ever I race i Pull the air filter
I have the cat deleted and also the muffler i need a 4in turbo back
I am running the edge attitude in setting 5 (115hp)
I always take off in 4x4 give me my 1.7 60ft time( very hard for any car with radials to compete with)
Running 33's on stock rims

And no i got home and passed out next to my beautiful wife

 

Its not hard tonight i got a Porshe Carrera Targa with a SCCA roll bar pulled away from a 30 MPH roll on to 70 where we backed off I was 2 lengths ahead. He looked stunned.

 

Bob, ain't that a hoot! I had a similar situation with one of those Honda two seaters. The look on their face is priceless. Bet he took it to his mechanic to find out what was wrong with it.

I dont know about anyone else but my predator is getting sent back i am going to stick with my edge w/attitude it was night and day performance difference with the two. the only thing i liked with the predator was the shifting.

My truck is bone stock and I got one of those Lexus sports cars. He was ****ed at me and tried to get me at a stoplight. 'Cause of my Turbo lag he got out to my front fender and was chirping through the gears but could not get in front of me. He backed off at about 75 mph. Boy was he mad and I laughed the rest of the way home.

I don't want it to sound like I'm calling you out or anything, but I'm amazed that a 1 ton CC 4x4 can pull of 13.7 1/4 as stated in your sig with the mods you have stated. Are you sure you don't have anything else done to your truck?? My 7.3 is fast with all my mods but without having gotten a 1/4mi slip, I can only assume maybe a high 14 to low 15. The reason I ask is due to the consideration that my brothers 02 Camaro SS with every SLP option you can get from the manufacturer runs a low to mid 12, which is not great by drag standards, but its a mass produced muscle car with little modification. Its hard to imagine a truck the size and dimensions of ours running just a few car lengths behind his SS? Again, I post this with respect, and am just curious if there is something about your truck you are not sharing. I knew the 6.0 were quicker than the 7.3's, but that quick??
