What do you drive?
I am not trying to start a war, but I have been thinking about what I drive. I love my F250, but that's not what I drive everyday. I drive a Tacoma. It is almost stock, with only a front hitch, K&N, aftermarket cruise control, and a toolbox for the mods. I was wondering what everybody drives. This includes your 73-79 if you are lucky enough to be able to drive it everyday

I own 6 vehicles. They are a 77 Ford F100 stepside, a 79 Ford F100 shortbed, a 78 Ford F150 Lariet, a 73 Ford F100 Custom, a 95 Ford F150 XL, and a 79 Buick LeSabre. The 79 LeSabre is my everyday driver. It's in pretty good shape and it runs good. The 77, 78, and 79 Fords have all been restored to original condition and are only driven on nice sunny summer days. The 73 Ford is in the process of being restored, and when it's finished it too will only be used in nice weather. The 95 F150 is in mint condition and has only 70,000 miles and is being put away as a collectors' item. 10-15 years from now I will probably have the cleanest 95 F150 in existance.

Well in September of 1968 my Grandparents picked up my Mom and Dad with me in Mom's arms from the hospital, I was brand new and soo was Grandads 1968 Ford Mustang G.T. California Special. I own that car today and the memories when I sit in the left seat, smell the interior and turn the key.....no click the key once and that smooth 302 purs to life, well what can I say, I love that car.
Growing up we had severall different vehicles,my Pop had a chain of auto stores and a pretty well respected machine shop. The chevs were always easy to fix, and cheaper, but what last longer than an old 360/390.....a 302/289......or a 240/300..............not much. Maybe I was tainted from the start, but when I sit in that old Mustang, smell the interior, feel the vinyl, I am six years old again with the lap belt in the right seat cinched tight, I can just see over the door and watch the rolling wheat fields of eastern Washington roll by at a fast clip with my Grandad behind the wheel, perhaps more than anything that is it, its Grandads car.......but I am still a Ford man........and soo is he at a spry 84, god bless him.
ok I am going to shut up now.....

Lucky man with that memory. Closest I got was driving my granpa's LTD II up for my brother and sister to run the crap out of for the rest of it's years. After I got there my old man said "//it's probably never been over 55....". I assured him that it had been now. 351M I think, wide open shift at 3500RPM. What a POS///which reminds me:
98 Exploder--being retired to babysitter and weekend duty.
95 Cherokee--being retired from babysitter duty, to be sold to the first person who wants a torque rich tin can.
97 Olds Silly--to be driven until it dies then set on fire by the side of the road.
85 E 150, trying to decide if it's worth tidying up things like the screaming trans, chattering clutch, but most importantly how to put that round piece of cast iron that flew off the a/c compressor last week back on.
'04 Audi A4 1.8 w/hairdryer. Buying today from a coworker moving to jolly old England. In part to avoid the leasing company ruining his credit so he can never come back to the US and partly because I want something different and well, here it is at a decent price with almost all options including maintenence.

Funny you guys mentioned memories. That is what actually got me into restoring my truck. My grandfather was a coal miner in Pennsylvania, and he had 2 79 F150s. They were identical except for the colors. I always loved the memories of riding around the mines with my grandpa, and that is the real reason I now have my truck. The tacoma is just a modern get around truck.
