AM radio reception problems

AM radio reception problems
99 F250, 5.4, auto. AM reception is not good, lots of static and somewhat weaker that it was when new. Some of the static goes away when I move the heater/AC temperature control but comes back a few minutes later. Other things that affect it are: droppng out of OD, turn signals/4-way flashers, etc. FM and CD are unaffected. Coils and plugs are rather new and had no effect on the problem.
