Okay, I know this is trivial but are all PSD radio's as bad in reception as mine. My car and Goldwing pick up a fairly local station but the truck doesn't...and it's FM!
As far as I know it is the stock radio, cd, cassette stereo that comes in these things. Any suggestions other than a new system?
And while we are at it, is there any way to eliminate or lessen the static of the AM? Perhaps my two situations are related.
Check that the ground is clean and tight on the fender and where it plugs into the radio.
I haven't turned my radio on in years but reception use to be good.I guess it still works
Like Ray said above, pull out the radio and ensure that the antenna is plugged in all the way into the back of the unit.
It takes a couple of U-shaped special tools to pull the radio, available at most auto supply houses for about $5. Some folks make them out of coat-hanger wires, too.
You could always add a wad of aluminum foil at the top...LOL just kidding,I put a Sony head unit in mine a long time ago,it seems the stock unit had pretty good reception though.I too would check the ant.connection, maybe even try to change out the ant.
