Oops, I forgot

Forgot to ask this question when asking about the brakes. Is it possible to remove the transmission cover and access the shift forks on a ZF 5 speed without pulling the tranny? I think I have a shift fork loose and would like to fix it without too much work.

if your truck has the removable floor panel <hump>then you should be able to access the top of the tranny .

Can the forks be removed from the top or do you have to remove the tranny first?

the forks are located on the top of the tranny ,the shift housing unbolts and comes off with the shift forks attached.most likely it is the shifter bushing in the cup
