e4od tranny fix
here is my tranny story.
i have a 1995 cc dlly psd with 58k miles that i have owned for 6 months.i had the camshaft positioning sensor replaced 4 mnths ago because it was stalling ,missing and not starting.the dealer rplced it for free under the emisions wrnty.everthing was now running great until presdnts. day wknd. i was going up cajon pass in so.ca. when the o.d. lght. strtd to flash.......
to cut a long story short i took it to the dealer and they said the t.c. went and contaminated the trans along the way.they wntd $2450.00 to fix it.
i got 4 other est. all in the same price range.
i spoke to the dealer again about the low miles
my truck had and the fact that these trannys
have a bad reputation for failing and he suggested
that i call the ford motor co. .....so i did.
the next day after speaking with ford the service mngr. from the local dealer called me and said
ford was offering an extended service plan for $495.00.(this offer was good until july)that would cover the power train for 6yrs/75k miles
from date of original purch.
i picked the truck up today from the dealer, paid my $495.00(no tax on srvc plans)and drove away.
i was very happy with how ford treated me(they
even offered me a free rental car),and they replaced it with newer version e4od that looks
cmplty. diffrnt. than my orignal tranny. the
tranny also has a 2yr/24,000 mi wnnty which is better than the extnd wnnty they sold me.

e4od tranny fix
here is an update to my tranny stroy,
I have 10,000 miles on the new tranny with no problems at all, in fact most of the miles have been with a lance slide in camper ,6 people and alot of steep grades to Yosemite, Mammoth ect. and also pulling watercraft to lake mead in very hot weather. Not bad for a $495.00 wrnty.
