2005 Torqueshift Problem
Here 9 months later it is really no worse and has not set a code. But given the big TT travel plans this summer, I took it to another dealer and had them look at it. Again, they were able to duplicate the issue AND diagnose the issues readily. Three of the transmission selenoids had gone bad and needed replaced. $1125 is what it cost me...ouch.
I am a bit upset that I tried to get this issue fixed when it was only 500 miles out of warrenty (hoping Ford would help me out a bit, but not entirely, with the repair cost) but the dealer I chose (Ford Certified, Blue Oval) could not diagnose the issue. Now, 13000 miles and 9 months later, and well out of warrenty, a different dealer was able to readily identify the problem. I called the Ford Customer Service line to see what they could do...Nothing, absolutely nothing. Even after I explained the entire scenario to them. They were not willing to even consider this.
A few questions:
1 - has any one else had problems with the Torqueshift selenoids at this low mileage?

2 - has any one had success working with Ford on a warrenty issue when beyond the warrenty time/mileage?

Love this site - love the advice.
Thanks
'certain' brand of tuner that did not program the tranny computer...
2 - No issue with out of warranty repairs... sounds like that 1st dealer mad a mistake you let him get away with.... If I have an issue, they best fix it then and there...
