I have a 58 f100 short bed with a 352 that ran what would seem to be better than that. It has electronic ignition, 770 street avenger carb,dual 21/4 exhaust, 355s with limmited slip, four speed toploader, and about a 5000rpm cam. I get moderate wheel spin through second gear when I get on it but the hydraulic clutch and sloppy shifter make it hard for great E/Ts. The only problem is that with the power and speed achieved under hard acceleration my drive shaft had such a large wobble that it ripped my output shaft off of the tranny. I still have the tranny and it might be rebuildable but I wouldn't waste my time on it. I guessing that It would run low 14s with the 4 speed to high 13swith a C6 ar even better a built a-body C4.

Well the only thing I can tell you..I had a 58 ford panel with a 302 aluminum Intake and a 4V and headers...I cant remember what I had in the rear for gears? but it was a limited slip... I took out the 3 speed and went to a C4 with a shift kit..and that trans behind that 302 worked great..And at that time in my life..I beat that trans with a B&M shifter.. I wish I still had the old dog... I'll post a pic one day when I find them?
