Just trying to see what people are running with their 352's. Im only running around 15 with mine but thats with the orig 3 spd. and 3.24(?) gears, along with some mods done back in the 70's. Could you please say what you have done, anything from dual exhuast to blowers.
Sean..and what Mayhem Bob running? I'll have to go to Bristol one weekend to get 1/4 mile times on the stock 390..well pretty much stock,,nothing fancy..and then times when the new motor is built?? but 15s from a 352 is nothing to sneeze at! Russ
15S seem quick to me. Is that with 3 on the tree? I'd be real happy with that ET with the 3.24 gears and a 352. What are the mods on the 352? What about traction?
Wow, that's really good for a 352. It can't be too "stock" with those times.
My '67 LB is a 352, 125,000 miles with a holley 750 vac. carb(the old 2bbl was not cuttin' it anymore). It has a toploader 4 spd and 3.25 gears. It ran 18's shiftin it around 3000 rpm. It doesn't make much power above that. The Holley is box stock and I used a 4bbl-2bbl adapter just to be able to bolt it on. It works flawless compared to that 2bbl .
Oh, it does have $100 headers and factory late model mustang mufflers on it. Not exactly hot rod material.
I'm sure if I could launch it hard, it would go maybe low 17's. I was basically just walking it off quick and then granny shifting down the track. It's a daily driver, so no sense in leaving parts on the track
Now my '69 has a 428 that went 13.4's. I can abuse it a bit harder.

It has a 3 on the tree with only one wheel spining. I believe the heads where pirated off a 390. It has a 600 cfm 4 bbl carb. still has the stock exhaust manifolds running dual exhuast of of 2 1/4. It has around 215,000 with only the rear main seal replaced.
gtex: i have to ease out the clutch then hammer it or I'll sit there and go up in smoke
to get my times up:
Where do I get headers for a 352-does anybody make them or do i have to get crafty?
Freightrain: where did you find a top loader 4 spd to match up with the 352- have been searching everywhere to find one!!!!
Thhinking about getting a cowl induction hood to run a 6" K&N-and for the looks
I ran across some ET slips my Daughter had in her scrap book..back in 77..and I had a Camper on the back of the F250 but it was only an 8' cab over and only ran 17.80s..and that was with the hedders, and a 750 holley, stock intake,
I'll see if I cant scan a photo? I have all this stuff hear and dont know how to use it?
My kids have all left home..so they cant show me how? OH well... Russ..

Bob is running a 421 with CNC ported edel heads, sidewinder intake, I think an 850 BG carb, hedman headers modified to fit the edel heads and some big solid cam from cam research. He has a C6 tranny and 4.33 gears. I think he said the compression is 11.2:1 but I may be thinking of another motor I was looking at. He is in the lower 12s now but has done no tinkering with it yet. I can't see mid 11s hard to hit with his parts. I really think he is running all the right parts to do so.
Headers: I have dynomax $100 Summit specials with $100 dual kit(exits in front of rear tires). Better than the junk that was on there and DOES NOT LEAK a bit after near a year.
Toploader: pretty much any toploader from about 67 up will work(not the early small pattern design). Either big or small input depending on which clutch you want to run(they will all work). I would stick with small input WIDE ratio. This will give you the deeper first gear to get the truck moving. It's pretty close to first in the three speed(I think?not sure what is in 3spd). Get the short tailhousing it should dern near bolt right in. I think the 3 spd and short 4 spd are same length?(been a while since I measured a 3spd). Buy a generic 4 spd shifter and go. If you are looking, find a tailhousing with the shifter mounted toward FRONT of housing. This will get it away from the seat without having to make a weird handle for the shifter. I have bucket seats in both my trucks so it's not an issue.
Hey these are some respectful times witha 390 or 352!! When F100 was a long wheel base and with a rv cam it ran a 9.25 in the 1/8 mile on street tires and 3.50 gears. which I believe is in the mid 14's for a 1/4 mile. I changed intakes to a offenhoauser 360 dual-plane and it slowed it way down, to a 9.91 in the 1/4 mile which is about a mid 15's but also found out my vaccum advance was not working and only had 15 degrees total advance. i am hoping with the new cam and proting the heads and new intake I can run a mid 13
