Too Much Load for Instrument Circut?
I will be adding 6 Autometer gauges to my '69 F250, and plan on lighting them by tapping into the original instrument lights so that I can dim them all together if necessary. The Autometer gauges use GE 161 bulbs. I lit all 6 of them together in parallel and they appear to draw less than an AMP--probably closer to half an AMP. Do you think I will taxing the headlight switch and/or rheostat too much?

Will probably be ok. If you are like me, I leave the dimmer control wide open anyway, because I can't half see the guages at night. So in that case, you are not using the dimming resistor at all.
