How much is this going to cost me? Recently I had one of the high pressure oil lines blow on my 95 f350 stroker and I replaced it. Well, after driving the truck for about 10 miles I decided to make sure it wasn't leaking. Much to my suprise it was. IT was leaking where the driver side line goes into the pump. Around the fitting that is threaded into the pump. I figured the o-ring had been cut so I thought I could snug it down good enough to make it home, BIG MISTAKE. The G#@ #@$n thing twisted off. The aluminum threads in the HPOP housing are stripped. Now what do I do? Buy a new HPOP, try to helicoil the threads, tap it out to a bigger size, or is there another fix? I would appreciate all thought and advice. Jake
ive seen this a few times and unfortunately you have to replace the pump. However you may get it covered in a parts warranty situation. Check the fitting on the pump where the line screws onto to see if it is burred or pitted. Ive seen new pumps that had "bad" fittings which would cause an oil leak from not sealing which may have been the case in your situation.
International Tech thanks for the info. I have searched this site high and low and cannot seem to find a reply that someone posted about the removal and reistallation of the HPOP. I know I just read it somewhere in the last 4-5 days. But I was hopinng that I would never have to perform the operation. Now that I need to do it I cannot find it anywhere. I would appreciate it for someone could post a link to the thread or give me some step by step directions on how to remove and replace it. Thanks Jake

There is a writeup as well as a picture gallery of how to remove the HPOP: Terminator Engineering Just click the link for Tech and you'll have access to the writeup and the pics. It's pretty easy to follow.
