small block bronco 2

I picked up an 84 bronco 2 2.8 liter auto 4x4. Engine is tired and unbelievably gutless.I'm wondering if anyone out there has ever dropped a small block in one. do I have tranny problems to worry about, will the block bolt up,will I have to move my t-case back, will I have manifold clearance problems etc? appreciate any help I can get. thanks.

ya there will be a couple clarince issues like distributer cap and oil pan and stearing. the best thing you can do is put a 302 in it with a dual sump oil pan. it is the best fit so far. even though i have seen 350 and what not in bronco II's

I'm putting a 351w in my ranger... got the engine in finally. (been about a year in process) just used steel plates and factory mounts..in my case exhaust clearance on the driver's side is a big issue..got a 4 inch body lift so not too much clearance issues there.....the other thing to gaurantee problems is oil filter location...with any windsor series engine 289,302,351 the oil filter comes out where you're steering box is...you'll need to relocate. depends which tranny you go with to determine drive train issues.

i think it is a dist issues but a 3 inch body should fix it no problume. and there is also a oil location problum but you can just relocate that. i think the engin needs to be a little higher as well becouse there is the exhaust will be tight but i think you can make it work with some custom headers. you will also need a custom radiator to if you go to www.jamesduff.com they had one but i would just get the meshorments on it and get a cheeper one. good luck
