uhhh well if you really want to make a 5000lb truck do the 1/4 mile in under 14 seconds... you're gonna need aluminum heads, big-*** blower, open headers, and a miracle :-)
cobra, the mfgs that make those kits should be able to tell you a Dyno estimate, you'll have to tell them the cam your going to use, alont with all the rest of this stuff. You'll also need MAS conversion. Some really good flowing aluminum heads will be needed for that much displacement. A all new, huge custom fuel system to feed a 408 with forced induction will be in order also. Custom computer, new torque converetor and tranny, rear end, drive shaft and so on, the list is huge along with the price tag to get that much weight to turn those numbers and not self destruct in the process.
Check out my 95 Bronco in my gallery, it ran up on Desktop dyno around 650 RWHP.

Bremen is on the right track. If you want to have a money pit and still not go fast, put it in a bronco. If you want to go fast buy a mustang and put the money in that.
Broncos are great for a lot of things, but racing ain't one of 'em.
Yeah, first off strip the rig... drop the four wheel drive front end and get you one out of an earlier model lightning that way you get the bigger brakes and all. Lower the thing, and take off everything that doesn't have to be there. You can also junk the trans with the transfer case and get you a good race built C-6 with a stall converter. Edelbrock had a kit for the 351W that made it an overhead cam roller engine, had aluminum heads and all kinds of goodies, they said it made over 400 hp on pump gas and all they were running was a big demon toilet on a high rise intake. I saw the same motor in another mag later with dual holley pro injection throttle bodies on it, I think they had it cranked up to almost 500 HP, and you save a lot of weight off the big blocks. Check the edelbrock website, they may still offer it. Every 100 lbs you drop is a good tenth of a second gain in the quarter typically.
Oh, and by the way... First thing you need is a TRACK!
well i let off cause there was a car coming but im sure he would have lost me
Quit racing on the street kid... you know what your Bronco would do to a mini-van or sedan if it pulled out in front of you? Take from a father of 3... it aint worth beatin a ricer when you put other peoples safety at risk.

wow, i wish i had one of those. Thats some crazy stuff.
I wish I had $14k just to wish to buy one with but seriously, street racing is fairly stupid, as well as turning a bronco into a drag strip only vehicle.
get a mustang or a honda and leave the bronco to do what it does best- haul 4 people in comfort while 4 wheeling and stuff.
While I agree that turning a Bronco into a street racer defeats the purpose of the vehicle.. it would be pretty sweet to see a 13 second topless bronco beating all those kids who put spoilers and flame stickers on thier hondas, and dont modify anything under the hood
Did you guys listen to the sound clip on that $14k engine? Scary
If you do build this truck, you need one of those "no rice" stickers on it.
Your truck is built for torque not top end hp. Thats why you beat him on the whole shot but he caught up to you in the end. Sure you can put a big block race engine in there but you lose the purpose of the truck. Low end torque for climbing hills and 4 wheeling not racing. I say if you wanna race buy a 2wd older ford truck or a stang. A friend of mine had an older 65 ford truck and put in a built 460 had it running high compression and stuff. That truck's front would lift off the ground when he hammered the gas.
