Sorry guys, I know the subject is like beating a dead horse, but bear with the new guy... ;o)
The camshaft sensor was the most likely cause of my idle/lack of engine performance troubles so I replaced it this afternoon. I left the negative cable off, as noted in earlier conversations, for about 45 minutes. Cranked the ole girl up and it didn't do much good. I can tell it is not as shaky as before, but it is still unacceptable for a fairly new vehicle (38k miles).
Code for the Check Engine light said 'Cyl. 4 misfire.' She's got new Motorcraft plugs and wires that the previous owner put on...maybe a bad gap setting??
Any ideas on what to replace/check next would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!
If I were you I would replace both the plugs and wires(whole set) because it is fairly cheap and is quite easy to do with a small 6 cyl. with low miles. If that doesnt clear up the problem, you might want to look into a faulty coilpack.
Awesome...Thanks for the input fellas!! I'm going to try and pull the plugs within the next couple days and see if it makes any difference. I'll post again and let yall know what the outcome is. Thanks again!!
