Is there anywhere else to get the aux idle control other than the Ford dealer? Also,
Are there any after market tuners, chips, etc. that provide idle control?
My dealer knows nothing about it. Says I will probably have to contact International for that item. Sounds strange eh!,especially since it is in the Ford literature.
VMAC has a throttle control for these trucks. 3 speed or one with a remote pendant. Check out www.throttlecommander.com
I work for VMAC so I'm biased about the product. We target mainly utility type comapnies but other uses include battery discharge protection, winch applications etc.
Dan,
What does the Throttle commander cost (approx. US retail) for the model with the 3 settings. It would be for a 6.0/Torqueshift. Also, I plan on keeping the truck running occasionally for extended periods to keep a/c running. Do I need one of these to keep the engine at the proper temp to prevent "wet stacking".
Thanks
L. Brinskelle
The Throttle Commander with a Drive Disable Circuit (DDC) for the Ford 6.0 is aprox $425.00 If you go to our website, we have an 800 number, just ask for Eric, our Throttle Control Specialist. The DDC is to prevent the control from being activated in any gear except Park.
Ours is a fairly easy install. Plugs into the foot pedal and you have to run a few wires. Should take about 45 minutes. Our new 2005 SEIC Throttle is a bunch cheaper than the 2004 throttle control. The 2005 Ford no longer has the option for a control module like in the past. If you'd like info on our new product please email me:

You better OK the sales pitch with the moderators...they are touchy about this stuff; you better check with them as to not get booted off for advertising...
I have no problem with it personally, just don't want to see anyone get kicked off...go back and check the posting rules
they are ebay all the time, bought mine for $250.00
and it was even from a 2004 model year truck.
just plugged into the factory harness "no wiring" and away you go.
