window tint

Has anyone tinted their front windows using a do it yourself kit...I am looking into this to avoid high costs and wanted to know how it would turn out

I've done many cars... not the Explorer specifically, but it is pretty easy to do as long as you take your time. Here in Jersey it is illegal to put any time on the front three windows. Check with your local laws and see if it is allowed first before you spend the time doing it.

whoa

dude, that would suck to not be able to tint your front driver and passenger windows!!!!!! I have mine tinted at 20% but the meter reads anything from 24 to 29% so I can get away with it--supposed to only go 30% in TN but oh well...it matches the rear factory privacy glass well!

I bought the tint for Wally World a year ago and it's still holding up well. Of course, the quality won't be as good but it's a whole lot cheaper. Here's a pic of it:
