i'm feed up with my transmission not hooking up, i understand i do have 36's i haven't re geared for but i put the shift kit in and it still makes the slipping "swhiiish" under hard acceleration. So i'm building the stoutest c6 possible, the list so far includes: low gear set, 5 pack sprag (7 if its out there), full manual valve body and code r servo and low drag planetaries and kevlar this and that. but the reason for this post is what other parts can i do to improve the tranny besides what comes in the "super" rebuild kits?
A trans brake basicaly binds up the trans on the starting line so when the light goes on its ready to go with a lot of force. They arent easy on things either. They would be of no practicle value in a 4x4.
A shift lever multiplies the pistons apply force to the band. a E lever has a 2.18 ratio it squeezes the band tighter around the drum. Shifts get more firm with higher ratios but at some point the shifts will start to slow down. It takes some experimentation to get it right for your aplication.
Maby try B&M for one. Selecting one will depend on what servo you want to use.
i apperciate the help mark, basically what i'm trying to do with this truck is turn it into a mud racer, i've got a pretty healthy engine (450+ hp) and i want the stoutest tranny i can get behind it, still being an auto. its basically going to be a off road drag racer, so i'm hoping to get every last bit of performance out to the ground with this tranny. i plan on doing the "r" servo, so i was thinking the e lever would be the way to go? i've been hunting around a noticed some extra wide "power bands" that are an 1.5 wider than stock, also found an 8 disc clutch pack would any of this effect the shifting?
