I intend to charge the system with one of those R134a cannisters and wanted to make sure I understood where the low pressure service valve was before I do anything silly. I'm not familar with the A/C systems so excuse my ignorance.
It seems as though the HIGH pressure valve is the black cap covered outlet just to the right of the windshield washer reservoir? If this is true, the only thing that looks like the LOW pressure service valve is the little outlet that is sticking out of the right side of the round cylinder (this is a technical term) located behind and under the main battery fuse box. Its attached directly to the cylinder looking thing as opposed to being attached to a line, like the other valve is.
Do I have this right? Anyone have a picture of this?
There are only 2 ports. A high side, which is the large connector and the low side which is smaller. Also look at the lines.. the high side line will always be smaller than the low pressure side line. I believe the round thing you are talking about is the reciever drier.. if it has a port on it, this will be your low side. As I said, the low side hose fitting will only go on the low side. You cant mess it up.

I just ran across the same problem, Ford didn't make it easy to service the A/C did they
Deanjet you are the man. That is the best picture documentation on finding the low pressure valve. Nice work, I have been searching for that info for two days now. Thanks
