merkstang,

It depends on whether or not you have good, flexible gaskets or not, or if you plan to replace them anyhow.
If you have flexible gaskets you want to save, lube under inside gasket Lip completely around it's interior, outside, edge. Then use tool to lift lip gently force glass outward, from the inside so gasket sits up on metal as you slowly work your way along. This is a learned touch and takes care, method & balance to do.

By method I mean start at center of smallest dimension, working towards the largest dimension, coming out & Reverse order going back in, working to center of smallest dimension.

In the case of a Slick the smallest dimension is across the top of the glass in both instances here. Start at top center (behind the isrvm) and work outward to A Pillar on both sides, then down A Pillars until you can lean windshield outward & lift out of, and off the lower groove & gasket.

By balance I mean working back & forth between one side then the opposite a little bit at a time while slightly & gingerly pressing outward on glass. A Novice really should use 3 people & pad hood with moving pad or old carpet "Just In Case". 1 person works inside cab, other 2 receive/ handle glass outside the cab.

OR if you plan to replace the Gaskets ( I strongly recommend you do) then using a suitable knife with a rather flexible but sharp blade, and lubricant Soapy Water is good, Insert the blade on the outside under the rubber betwen the glass & rubber and cut the old gasket's outer part away. Once all of it is removed either use Glaziers Vacuum Handle to lift the glass out, or use helper(S) to take the glass out, 1 inside & 2 outside receiving as above.

2 words of caution, if you have the custom cab woth the Stainless Steel Brite trim, cut to the trim & remove that, then cut the rest of the way & remove that. The 2nd word of caution is when cutting try NOT to cut so deeply that you cut along the surface of the A Pliiar as the blade will cut through the paint & that will req' repair or else it will rust later.

To replace the glass, 1st soak the blind cord so it becomes saturated (hygroscopic, or loaded) with soapy water. Next place gasket on the glass using the correct groove. Next place cord into appropriate groove so the 2 ends cross @ bottom center and run to opposite bottom corners. Liberally lube gasket & all grooves/ lips & hole it sits in.

Lift glass-gasket-cord & all in place setting the bottom down & inward so it will seat. It gets tricky here. One helper gently pushes downward on top center & other gently inward at bottom, 3rd party, inside pulls the lip up & back at bottom center, gasket & glass should drop into place almost. . .work the inside lip so assembly starts to set lip while outside help apply slight pressure down/inward. Keep doing this as assembly gets stood up & laid back over it's mounting hole. As the corners begin to seat, 1st work one side, pulling Zip cord so gasket edge rolls out & starts to seat & seal. Then work other side same way. I go a few inches one side then a few other and so forth. Work the thing in place, use the zip cord to roll the sealing lip out & into position. To seat completely push with your kaked palm on the gasket near the edge off the glass, not on it, and work along by going back & forth until it is seated all the way around.

Install brite trim using plenty of lube, wash off with a hose, where it leaks use body calk strips to seal it.

DO NOT USE FORCE and most of all DO NOT RIP GASKET by forcing or working too fast/ hard.

Tools I use are a cotter key remover, some old worn out small #1, or smaller, phillips round shank screw drivers slightly bent @ 20 to 30 degrees, with the ends blunted to smooth on a grinder.
A flat screw driver with the edges rounded or blunted on a grinder so as to not injure a rubber gasket.

Soup can full of soapy water, (use Ivory Liquid so no detergent stains get on paint)

A 1 or 1.5" paint brush to apply soapy water lubricant with.

Enough Nylon blind cord (for venetion blinds) to circumference the glass 1- 1/2 times. This will be used as a Zip Cord to seat inside gasket sealing lip.
