Factory Tow Package -Explorer

Good Morning

The original invoice from my 97 Explorer LTD -4.0 SOHC has these two options listed;
XD4 - 3.73 LS Axle / t (anything else that should have printed was cut off)
TTP - Trailer Tow Package

I will assume that the LS is Limited slip and the taller ratio should help with towing.
can anybody tell me what should be included with the TTP?

I can see the Tranny cooler and a 4 pin flat connector. I am hoping for an electric brake controller plug-in someplace.

Cheers

Doug

If it's already wired for a trailer brake controller there should be a wire harness somewhere under the dash on the driver's side. Check there first.

If you only have the 4-pin connector by the hitch, it's doubtful you have a brake controller plug-in under the dash. If you do, it could be on the driver's side or behind the glove box (Ford likes to keep you guessing). It's a square 6-pin connector but has only 5 wires connected to it - hope this helps.
