'90 4.9: What is this?

This is a link to some pictures of thing I need help with.
This is a 1990 4.9 EFI engine.
Pic 1 is 3 vacuum control solenoids left one controls EGR right one is the air injector pump... so what is the middle one.
Pic 2 WHAT IS IT I have no idea .... where does it get air from and where should it be directing air to?
Pic 3 is air intake to the air injector pump. should it get cold air from under the car and is it ok to take in air from the engine compartment?

the solenoids are.
EGR---Air pump diverter valve ---air pump by pass valve.
no clue on pic 2 since your link doesn't work.
no clue on pic 3 since your link doesn't work, but reading from your description. that's Normal! nothing to loses sleep over it.

pic number 2 is your injector blower. you're missing a hose from this blower to 1" diameter pipe under the upper intake. Main purpose of that is to cooled your injectors.
can you take a picture of upper intake manifold? [ front view is good ]
what I said about pic number 1 and 3 is correct.

pic #3 the can that has the hose going to the air pump on mine it looks the same but on the other side of it mine has a hose comming off of it and goes no where, when the motor is running you can here a chugging noise comming from it, is that normal ? anyone no
