Too bad. I'm going to the dealer tommorow to ask about the rear fender liner and I'm missing the under hood light. Wires are there, no light.
Thanks.
They have the hood blanket and possibly the light for sale in the parts department. Some people on this forum have bought the blanket. I think it was $70 - $90.
You can probably adapt some sort of light from a salvage yard car. If it has two wires try hooking one to the light positive lead and the other to a home made (from strips of copper) designed and mounted so that they make contact when the hood is opened. If one wire, use the car body as the ground. Experiment, you can make it work. Also the wire on your hood is likely not fused so you will have to figure that out also.
Field Day was a day when we cleaned up when I was in the USMC.
The oil filter sits on top of the engine, and uses a reusable hard case. You just replace the inner filter element. You need to leave the drain plug out because when you loosen the hard case, it allows the oil that is inside to drain out, down into the pan. If you replace the drain plug before changing the filter, the dirty oil that was in the filter doesn't drain.
Makes perfect sense, guess I kind of overlooked the obivous on this one.

Thats a great idea, I may do something like that myself.
For those whose trucks did not come equipped with the hood blanket, and have since ordered and installed it, does it make a difference? Is it worth it?

I've had my truck 5 days, two days ago I put in the hood blanket. Not sure why it doesn't come with it. I didn't notice a big difference in noise. But its there now. One of the retainers would not stay in, as the liner wasn't contoured quite right at that spot. FYI, you need the hood pad and 17 retainers.
I work for ford, so get a good deal on parts. But the pad lists for 81.60. Its really too large to ship, so you have to get it for what you can. Retainers are about 1.00 each.
If nothing else it will keep some heat off of the hood.
Are all the new 6.0s coming without a hood blanket now?
I cannot find it........but there is a thread with all the part numbers and fastner numbers you need for the hood blanket...........her in the 6.0 area...
I found my upper radiator hose getting rubbed by the upper intercooler pipe/tube. Has anyone had this problem. Luckily i use to work on semis and am use to poking around looking for problems since my dealer doesnt seem to.

It has happened to a few, it is far easier to fix yourself on things like this...........sounds as if no problem for you.

Soon as I saw yout post I ran outside and checked mine. Mine clears by 1/2" but the hose to the overflo / fill bottle rubbs on the uper radiator hose where they cross. Will wrap both with duct tape.

Yep same here. I took a piece of old radiator hose out of my junk pile and cut a curved section about 5" long and cut one side longways. I wrapped it where the upper hose contacts the intercooler hose. It's not even noticeable.
I'll have to check and make sure it is still there. They replaced my turbo bracket Friday.
Had my F350 to see the dealer today. They are going to install the front part of the rear wheel plastic fender liners, install a hood blanket, (3, new F350 XLs on the lot "had" them) and a hood light (it was wired, but no light. It's part of the Decor package). They also turned the top radiator hose so it does not contact the intake pipe, good call, thanks.
Very impressed at their service, Ernie Von Schledorn in Lomira Wisconsin.
Not so impressed with Ford. In this day and age of automation and inspection I didn't expect the comsumer had to be part of final assembly...
Makes me wonder what else I'm missing. ???
