OT and wrong forum, but did you guys get this front and in what years ?
Over here the Cab was basically the same from 40-48, but there were variations in the number of feature lines on the door and accross the back of the cab.
The one pictured has 2 lines on the door AND on the cab back panel.
The only old trucks I remember seeing like that was the late 30's and early 40's dodges. I can't remember ever seeing a ford like the one above. I personaly like it. Halfdone, do you have any pictures of one that is finished?
Doc
. . . Now another decision. do I use the original 50 F1 rear end as I had planned or do I use the JAG rear suspension? Gotta think on that one for a while.
While you're thinking, consider this: The rather poor ride quality of an unladen stock pickup derives from a way-out-of-balance sprung/unsprung weight ratio in the rear, relative to contemporary passenger cars. The complete Jaguar XJ IRS skews the ratio in the right direction, substantially increasing sprung weight as it substantially reduces unsprung weight a comparable amount.
hey halfdone, is that front end halfdone or have u got access to a real easy going engineer?
did u finish the 52?, the jb looks to be all there, where did u find that?
cya..gary
Jag centres are basically a Dana 44, so power handling is similar.
I looked around and didn't find a gear ratio that I liked very much. Do you know if the ring and pinion from a Dana 44 would swap in? Thanks, you have been a great help so far.

All the pictures I have posted are friends cars, except the dual cab which is just photos from wintersun. jb's are in brissy, he has three.
Front end is just resting there.
My 48 F-1 is getting real close. Final highfill ready to block back and then throw some colour on it.
Looking for a 53-60 cab for a quick cash project, then going to do either my 37 roadster ute, or a 40 1/2 ton......or the 27 roadster or 51 vicki or.......
This is a great read!!! Lots of useful info!! This ended my debate on what to do. I was contemplating a full frame swap, camaro front clip or custom Mustang II IFS. My problem has been finding a frame that is close in dimensions with an IFS, trying to figure out whether or not I wanted to do all the work of installing a front clip and if I really wanted to spend the cash on a Mustang II IFS. But this Jag swap seems to be simple (compared to a frame swap or a clip job) and it's a heck of alot cheaper than the Mustang II IFS. Thank you guys very much for this thread and keep the pics commin please! I'll be ready to do mine in the spring....Just 1 question so far....Will the Jag springs be strong enough to hold up a FE 390?
