Question Points wiring to electronic ignition

Ok heres the deal... I took a 351m with electronic ignition from a 1981 F250 and I put the 351m in a 1974 F100 that had a 302 in it but I'm not sure since I got the 74 with no engine. So now the 351m is in the 74 but I'm not sure how to hook up all the wires from the 351m with electronic ignition to the 74 F100 wiring that had a points system. Where would I find wiring diagrams to help me out with this? Or could some one try telling me where the wires should go.
Thanks for any help.

You could go to the store and buy a points distributor for a 351c and install it. Then the wiring would work.

Not an authority, just replaced points w/ Duraspark ignition sys. on 65 f100 w/ 70 Torino 302. Near completing installation of dash harness and hope to test within next couple days. At least getting a spark, not that it means anything. Received help by posting in FTE, also if you run a search on web 'duraspark' you should get few hits where you will find number of different variations. If you are going with the Duraspark ign. need to get the harnesses, including harness to ignition switch, and blue grommet module. If you are using the factory harnesses, the wires should be accounted for. The red and white lead from the module go to the ignition switch. The red to the run side of the switch, and white connects to start side of ignition. I used the same coil wire to the tach harness. May find different info on the tach hookup, not certain.

Anyhow, rambled on enough. Post if you have any questions.

Good luck,
dave

There are also many digrams presently posted in this and the 70's trucks forums.

Look for *ignition* threads.
